Lauren Davis is a vocalist, pianist, composer, producer, and teacher. Originally from Fredericksburg, VA, Lauren spent the last 10 years in Los Angeles developing her career until she returned to her home state this past January. In that decade, Lauren earned a degree in vocal performance from California Institute of the Arts, performed at the world renowned Walt Disney Concert Hall on several occasions, premiered operas and concert works by prominent living composers, was featured as a guest vocalist on numerous albums, and recorded seven albums of her own music. Her unique compositions have been noticed and celebrated by the jazz, metal, experimental, and classical communities of LA. Her most recent engagements include: performing a fully staged 2 minute excerpt of Mozart's Le Nozze Di Figaro on a loop for 12 hours with the Los Angeles Philharmonic (as directed by artist Ragnar Kjartansson), singing Medieval music at legendary feminist artist Judy Chicago's dinner party, and recording vocals for Hulu's Castle Rock.
In addition to her thriving career as a performer, Lauren has been a busy private music teacher for the past 7 years. She is known by students, parents, fellow teachers, and employers as a fun, compassionate, and imaginative educator. She is dedicated to encouraging students to be their unique selves, experiment with sounds, develop self-discipline, and manage emotions through music. Lauren is thrilled to be here in Richmond and she can't wait to befriend the families and musicians of this community.
