Assessment and Placement Details

Assessments vary by age and instrument. For young beginners, assessments focus on rhythm, pitch recognition, and readiness for instrument size and coordination. For intermediate and advanced students, assessments include repertoire review, technique evaluation, sight-reading, and a discussion of goals. Placement results in a recommended lesson frequency and teacher assignment, and a suggested repertoire and technique plan.

FAQs About Enrollment

  • Can I change my lesson time after enrolling?

We accommodate changes when possible; frequent rescheduling may be limited by demand. Contact our front desk to request changes — we’ll strive to find a workable solution.

  • Do you offer make-up lessons?

Make-ups are available for teacher-canceled lessons. For student absences, our policy allows for limited rescheduling depending on advance notice and teacher availability.

  • What if we need a short break during the school year?

Extended breaks require advanced notice. Billing continues to hold a lesson time unless you formally withdraw or discuss an interim arrangement. Check the enrollment agreement for specifics.

  • Are lessons guaranteed with certain teachers?

Students are assigned teachers based on placement and scheduling. If you have a preference, we’ll note it and do our best to accommodate based on availability.
