  • Shared resources and curricular frameworks for consistent progression from beginner through advanced levels.

Instrument Selection Guidance

Piano/Keyboard

For beginners, a full-size 88-key weighted keyboard is recommended for building proper technique. Yamaha digital pianos are preferred for touch response and durability.

Size and action matter. We recommend starting on a comfortable neck with low action to avoid unnecessary finger pain & frustration. Alvarez acoustics offer balanced tone & playability.

We recommend a compact, sturdy student kit with quality heads. Teachers will advise on cymbal selection and pad options for quieter practice if needed.
