Piano, Voice

​

Dr. Cara Davis is an accomplished vocalist and pianist specializing in classical music. With undergraduate degrees in vocal and piano performance, a master’s degree in vocal performance, and a doctorate in music education and ethnomusicology, Cara has spent a lifetime pursuing teaching excellence. In addition to her sixteen-year tenure with the University of Wisconsin system and years as a private voice instructor and collaborative pianist at Ripon College and Marian University, she has performed throughout the United States, most recently with Cappella Romana, based in Portland, Oregon.

 

While Cara considers her true passion to be German and French art song, she has performed in numerous oratorios, operas, and musical theater productions. She has even been a church organist since age 12!

Whether teaching voice or piano, Cara strives to instill a passion for music, building healthy habits and foundational techniques tailored to each student’s needs. Her expertise in music theory and music history ensures that all students, both beginning and advanced, have a well-rounded approach to their musical journey. Above all, Cara seeks to create a warm, friendly musical environment for each student, creating optimal space for musical growth and expression.
